Award-winning ensemble North Children’s Choir presents a unique performance that weaves together songs, stories, film and animation.
The choir families represent the diverse cultural landscape that shapes the Northern suburbs of Geelong and the children sing songs in Italian, Karen, Sudanese, Polish, Maori, Hindi, Tagalog, Wadawurrung and English.
In a year like no other, celebrate with this group of 6-11 year olds who, against all odds, have stayed connected with each other and with the joy of music.
SPECIAL FEATURE: ‘Pipi Thay Too’ (The Grandmother Tree). An animated short film celebrating resilience, the power of identity, mystical encounters with ancestors, and the Karen and Karenni refugee experience. Created by a group of local refugee women aged 12-22 in collaboration with local artist, director and mentor Laura Alice. Another Bluebird Foundation project in partnership with City of Greater Geelong and The fOrT.
