Building Social Equity through Arts Education

Access to arts education is not equal in Australia and especially in Victoria.

Research tells us that all children experience benefits from music education but those from low socioeconomic backgrounds benefit the most. More than Music supports parents to improve their capacity to educate their babies, toddlers and preschoolers at home, it supports schools and teachers to deliver effective singing programs in the early years classrooms and it provides a pathway to musical excellence for children who show high musical potential where there is no access to extracurricular programs in their suburbs, even if their families could afford to pay for them.
